The ex-wife of Former President Donald Trump and mother of Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump was pronounced dead on Thursday. She was 73 years old.
On Thursday, Police responded to a report of a person in cardiac arrest at a residence on the Upper East Side around 12:40 p.m. and found the 73-year-old unconscious “in close proximity” to the bottom of a staircase, according to a NYPD spokesperson.
She was pronounced dead on the scene. Officials said the death appears be from natural causes and is not considered suspicious, per the report, which also noted the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will investigate the cause of death.
Ivana’s tragic passing was announced publicly by Donald Trump in a written statement from his Truth Social account.
“Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion & determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children & 10 grandchildren,” the Trump family said in a statement.

Ivana and Donald were the power couple of the 1980s. They were featured prominently in New York City social circles and in tabloids across the country as Mr. Trump was building his real estate empire.
The former power couple met in New York City in the 70s when Ivana was working as a model for the Olympics. They were married shortly after.
As Mr. Trump’s star rose in NYC real estate circles, Ivana began playing a larger role in the organization. She held several prominent positions within the Trump organization, including VP of interior design and general manager of the Plaza Hotel in New York.
The couple had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. They were married for 15 years before they divorced in 1992 due to Trump’s relationship with his second wife and mother of Tiffany, Marla Maples.
The two maintained a positive relationship during the Former President’s first White House term. Ivana revealed she spoke with Donald “weekly” while he was President.
Ivana Trump went on to develop several clothing, jewelry, and beauty lines. She is also the author of several books, including Raising Trump, which documents her childhood growing up under communist rule to raising her three children.
She will be gravely missed.
