Soviet America: Biden Admin Establishes New ‘Ministry Of Truth’

The Biden administration is known for establishing some of the creepiest domestic policies this country has ever had the pleasure of experiencing, but their new plan to stomp out “mis and dis-information” via a federal agency within the Department of Homeland Security is truly beyond the pale.

In what appears to be a major shift toward the Soviet left, Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas announced on Wednesday the formation of a ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ in an attempt to combat “misinformation” online.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Only one week after Elon Musk purchased Twitter, essentially stripping the government’s ability to control the online narrative, the Biden administration announced the formation of a special government initiative to tackle online misinformation…

Really makes you think.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the “just established” governance board, which reeks like the Orwellian Ministry of Truth, during a congressional hearing on Wednesday, arguing it would help reduce domestic threats to the United States.

It’s not yet known exactly how the board will be run or what it will choose to focus on. However, Biden did choose someone to head the board, someone who has deep ties to leftwing misinformation herself.

Nina Jankowicz, a fellow for the Wilson Center, confirmed reports that she would direct the board, sharing her official government portrait on her social media profile.

She claimed the new board was created to “maintain the Department’s commitment to protecting free speech, privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties.”

Meanwhile, if the goal of the DHS governance board is to stomp out misinformation online, then how does that port to protecting free speech? Typically when the left brings up free speech they’re simply referring to the kinds of speech they happen to agree with, or that happens to suit a particular political narrative, but certainly not actual free speech, which could very well offend or upset a precious liberal woman of color.

Jankowicz has been on the leftwing misinformation train for years now as she is one of the most vocal supporters of the Hunter Biden “Laptop From Hell” media suppression that occurred right before the 2020 presidential election. She downplayed the laptop bombshell, asserting it was like a “Russian influence op.”

Not to mention Jankowicz’s years-long support for massive social media regulation and censorship.

In October 2020, Jankowicz testified to the House Select Committee on Intelligence on the dangers of misinformation and conspiracy theories and how to stop it online.

“Disinformation is a threat to democracy,” she warned and criticized the government and social media platforms who have “all but abdicated their responsibility” to address   domestic disinformation.”

During her testimony, Jankowicz recommended that Congress start spending more taxpayer dollars to fund a “robust public media” and work on a global effort to combat disinformation.

She also hailed Twitter’s efforts to censor users during the 2020 election and urged more technology companies to follow their example.

Essentially, Jankowicz is the modern Democrat’s dream: She’s a liberal woman who’s willing to assist the federal government in censoring right-wing speech online. She parrots the talking points du jour, namely the nonsensical idea that unregulated speech online is somehow destructive to “democracy” — a concept liberals have no real feeling for except as a means for control.
