Americans have an unfortunate habit of allowing movie stars, musicians, and other celebrities to influence their political beliefs. It has something to do with our lack of aristocracy, but who really knows why so many of us are willing to abandon critical thinking to blindly support a Hollywood shill.
Matthey McConaughey, like so many others in Hollywood, likens himself to a bit of a political junkie. He’s even come very close to running for governor of Texas against Greg Abbott and Beto O’Rourke.
The famous actor known for playing a male stripper and an AIDS patient, graced the American public once again on Tuesday, this time from the White House press briefing room.
McConaughey accepted an invitation from Biden’s White House to address matters of gun control following a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas — his hometown.
“We are in a window of opportunity right now that we have not been in before. A window in where it seems like real change — real change can happen,” McConaughey said from the press secretary’s podium.
The Hollywood actor did what he did best, manipulated his audience by introducing heightened emotion in what later became a radical speech about specific gun control measures.

And, as liberals are wont to do, McConaughey disclosed the frank and gory details associated with a violent shooting for the sole purpose of manipulating the audience. He called out the AR-15 by name (liberals’ favorite boogeyman) to remind viewers of the toll one’s body takes if he/she is shot.
McConaughey evoked the murdered Uvalde children, saying the AR-15 left their bodies “not only dead but hollow.”

He continued, demanding a moderate approach to gun laws before rattling off a series of measures he believes would help alleviate gun violence. Coincidently, they just so happen to resemble the exact gun-control measures Biden put forward in a recent address to the nation.
“We are not as divided as we’re being told we are,” he insisted, calling for some “middle ground” on the issue of gun control.

Meanwhile, Matthew McConaughey is no moderate when it comes to gun control.
He’s previously advocated for the total ban and seizure of all “assault weapons” from citizens. He by no means expressed moderate gun control measures in this speech from 2018, where he outs himself as a radical opponent of the Second Amendment.

And to think there are conservatives who actually agree with this guy!
