Fauci Believes CDC, Other Public Health Agencies Are Above The Law

It’s almost impossible to wrap one’s mind around the belief that certain federal agencies should be completely immune from the same checks and balances every other government entity supposedly operates under.

That because the CDC or Fauci’s NIH are dealing with matters of “public health” means they’re somehow entitled to levels of impunity unheard of in America.

Nevertheless, that’s precisely what Dr. Fauci believes.

On Thursday, Dr. Anthony Fauci did what he does best, giving a media interview to discuss a recent court decision that struck down the Biden administration’s federal mask mandate for public transportation.

The NIH Director didn’t mince words when he said the Center For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) should have the undue authority to impose such mandates and courts should have no right to interfere.

Essentially, Fauci blasted the Monday court ruling during Thursday’s CNN interview, claiming he was “surprised and disappointed” that a district court has the authority to hold a public health agency accountable.

“We are concerned,” Biden’s medical advisor said. “About the courts getting involved in things are unequivocally public health issues.”

“This is a CDC issue, it should not have been a court issue,” he continued.

Fauci said it was “perfectly logical” for the CDC to continue to extend the mask mandate for travel, even as all 50 states and most localities have dropped mask ad vaccine mandates because the U.S. is going to see an “inevitable” increase in cases of COVID-19 soon.

But what difference does it make how many cases of COVID-19, if any, are present at any time if it means government agencies are able to overstep the authority given to them by Congress and intrude on the personal liberties of American citizens?

Just because a virus from China has ravaged the country to whatever extent, doesn’t give the CDC an opportunity to exact dictatorial powers over the population. To think otherwise would be ludicrous!

Perhaps it’s a partisan issue for Fauci.

He admittedly doesn’t have a high opinion about Former President Donald Trump and, given the judge who made the Monday ruling, Fauci could be simply be lashing out.

Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, a Trump-appointed federal judge, essentially stripped the CDC of most (if not all) of its authority.

The Biden administration intends to appeal Mizelle’s decision. After the ruling, every major U.S. airline made masking on flights optional.
